After finding the Red Lion Inn by chance via a small brown sign off the Hungerford to Malborough road, we were made very welcome by the landlord Nigel. We started with olives and bread with balsamic / olive oil, our mains were confit pork belly and confit duck leg - amazing. I am not normally a dessert person but I had chocolate fondant cooked to order and my wife had mango cheesecake - again, truly amazing. We had eating in many restaurants worldwide including michelin starred ones and this today came up to the best of them. We are hoping to go again next week during our holiday but need to make room first. Thank you again.

We fell across The Red Lion Inn accidently on Sunday and how glad we did. Thank you for a lovely lunch in the garden. Not only was the food excellent so was the service. We will return. Many Thanks.

Just had a brilliant evening meal in the Red Lion. We took the Chefs' advise, the soft belly of pork with scallops was cooked to perfection and the modestly named cod and chips belies the freshest succulent fish and scrumptious chunky chips. The home made cheesecake would win awards in the USA. Gourmet food at regular prices. Sadly for us, we live in Hertfordshire, but for the residents of Marlborough and Hungerford, this is just a brief drive into the countryside. Lucky them.

After a long 3 months away the 1 thing that I am looking forward to the most is coming for dinner at the red Lion having a chat with Nigel & sampling yet more of the chefs amazing food.
we have never had a bad meal at the red Lion or bad service we love the whole atmosphere & warm welcome we always receive. The food is always the freshest & exceptional quality. Make sure to ask about the daily specials & finish the meal of with coffee & a drink by the fireplace.

We were welcomed and looked after with unobtrusive kindness - coffee and then a most delicious lunch - compliments to the chef. Thank you.

Went to the red lion on Sunday the 19th to celebrate a family birthday. The family who own and run the pub were very very welcoming and very helpful with our party. The food was good and the staff very attentive and there was a roaring fire which was very cosy. I would like to thank everyone at the red lion for an outstanding service.

We visited The Red Lion with my parents and we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of the place. We were warmly welcomed and ushered to seating by the open fireplace, where we had drinks and shared starters. It wasn't long before we were taken to our table in the restaurant and were eating deliciously, succulent lamb shanks and red mullet, both highly recommended. We would definitely recommended this Inn, which is homely, cosy and inviting.

After along absence due to personal circumstances.we revisited the Red Lion and it did not dissapoint. Nigel was as pleasant and attentive as we remembered. And the food was excellent.
We will return at our earliest opportunity.
Thank you Nigel.

We have just come back from a wonderful evening with you. Dinner was fantastic, and what a choice of quality meats and fish, with some fantastic cooking and creative ideas. Fab wine list, and lovely atmosphere. We have lived in the area for a long time and this is our first visit. We will be back and would urge anyone else locally who hasn't yet tried it, to definitely pay the Red Lion a visit. Such a refreshing change from the more often than not mediocrity abundant these days in pub and restaurant food. Thank you.
